INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Meeting one on one with a clinician provides young people with an understanding, caring and neutral party in which to share their thoughts, feelings, emotions and problems. Being able to build a relationship of trust with a responsible, objective adult is an important part of young people beginning to get a "reality check" and different perspective on the problems they are dealing with in their lives.
GROUP THERAPY
Group therapy is a great option for young people that are resistant to participating in individual or family therapy. It is also a nice supplement to individual therapy. Participation in group therapy provides the child with the opportunity to work on problems and issues without feeling directly under the spotlight. It also provides the young person with perspective that other youth struggle with similar issues. Group therapy is a nice option for families that need an economically feasible approach to having their child participate in therapy as the cost of group therapy is less expensive than individual or family therapy. Therapy Associates provides the following therapy groups on a weekly basis:
-Elementary Age Social Skills Group
-Anger Management Group
-Pornography Addiction Group
-Sexual Maladaptive Behavior Group
-Substance Abuse Group
-Parent Support Group
PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL CLASSES
Some young people need specialized instruction and education to assist them in obtaining knowledge and skills in the areas of their lives where they struggle. Unlike therapy, the primary focus of psychoeducational classes is to educate and instruct. Young people are able to gain information and knowledge about subjects relevant to the issues that they are dealing with. Therapy Associates offers the following courses:
-Thinking Errors
-Anger Management
-Social Skills
ISSUE SPECIFIC PROGRAMS
For those young people that require more frequent and intensive treatment than traditional weekly therapy, Therapy Associates provides young people with the opportunity to be in a treatment setting multiple times per week. These programs can be a cost effective alternative to a placement in a residential treatment center which can cost thousands of dollars per month. Therapy Associates offers programs in the following areas:
-Substance Abuse
-Sexual Offenses
-Pornography Addiction
