Therapy Associates is a member of the AFCC (Association of Family and Conciliation Courts), subscribes to current AFCC policy and stays up to date on current research and literature in the field.

Custody Evaluation

 

 

Custody Evaluations are conducted under court order and according to Utah Code rule 4903.  Custody Evaluations typically take about 90 days to complete and involve inteviews with all relevant parties including the children, family observation and assessment both in the office as well as home visits and psychological testing. 

 

The findings of the evaluation are presented to the parties and their attorneys in a settlement conference. 

 

Custody Evaluations require a $4000 retainer be paid prior to the evaluation beginning.  Typically the cost is split between the parties.  Evaluations are conducted by either Matt Bulkley, LCSW, or Kena Frey, LCSW with Dr. Dan Sanderson conducting the psychological testing.

 

 


Adult Psychosexual Evaluation

Psychosexual Evaluations typically are conducted at the request of a court/attorney/parent as a result of allegations of sexual behaviors that pose a risk or threat to family members.  Psychosexual Evaluations involve interviews with all relevant parties, family observation and psychological testing.  Psychosexual Evaluations typically take about 30 days to complete.   The Evaluation is encapsulated in a written assessment report.  Psychosexual Assessments require a $700 retainer prior to the evaluation beginning.  The evaluation is conducted by Matt Bulkley, LCSW.

Psychological Evaluation

Therapy Associates can conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations.  The testing occurs in the office and the array of testing varies depending on the specific issues needing to be evaluated.  The cost of the evaluation depends on the testing that is required.  Testing is conducted by Dr. Dan Sanderson. 

Supervised Visitation

Therapy Associates provides supervised visitation services in cases where the court has ordered that visits between parents and children be supervised.  Therapy Associates staff are trained in supervision and observation of these circumstances.  Visitation can occur at the office or in the community.  Written reports of the visits are provided to relevant parties.  Supervised Visitation is billed at $50 hourly. 

 

 

Adoption Home Studies

Therapy Associates clinicians have training and experience in conducting home studies for potential adoptive parents.  This process consists of in office interviews, home visits and a written court report.  Many adoptions require both a pre-adoptive and post adoptive home study report.  Therapy Associates clinicians can streamline this process for adoptive parents and provide all the necessary reports to attorneys and the courts to ensure a smooth adoption process.  The cost of the evaluations vary depending on the time needed to conduct the evaluations.
