CORPORATE LEADERSHIP TRAININGS
OUR APPROACH
Therapy Associates is now offering Equine Assisted Corporate Training, an innovative and experiential program using horses as a part of the training team. This program is offered to corporations and businesses that wish to improve various leadership, communication, and teamwork skills among their employees.
Our trained facilitators have created team building exercises where participants and horses work together to create a positive corporate culture where individual strengths are valued. Our facilitators will work with you to address the challenges occurring in your business and help discover positive solutions in a fun non-threatening environment.
The Value of Using Horses in Corporate Training
Those who are familiar with horses recognize and understand the power of horses to influence people in incredibly positive ways. Horses are honest teachers they give immediate feedback by mirroring human behavior. Participants learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with the horses and discussing the experiences, behaviors, and patterns that emerged during the activities. Some behaviors that surface during the activities are non-verbal communication, assertiveness, creative thinking, problem-solving, leadership skills, taking responsibility, teamwork, confidence, attitudes and how participants relate and interact with others.
The Value of Using Horses in Corporate Training
Kena Frey, LCSW counselor at Therapy Associates talks about the use of equine therapy for businesses interested in improving team work and resolving work related conflict issues. This intervention is used by business owners and managers who are looking for ways to improve production and company morale.
THE POWER OF EQUINE TRAINING
Horses are sensitive to non-verbal stimuli and human emotions and therefore provide visible information on human nonverbal communication and body language. Horses are also social animals much like human beings with defined roles within their herds. Because of this natural instinct they are able to deliver insight into individual roles within a team and group dynamics. Horses are playful animals and like to have fun and enjoy being with their peers. They have distinct personalities, attitudes and moods; an approach that works with one horse won’t necessarily work with another. At times, they seem stubborn and defiant. In other words, horses provide vast opportunities for metaphorical learning, an effective technique when working with even the most challenging individuals or groups.

Why the use of horses is an effective tool for leadership training?
Horses mirror the energy or emotions given to them by the people who are interacting with them. They reflect it back, thus giving the participants and leadership trainers immediate feedback of how the participants communicate, interact with others, and work as members of a team.
