Sterling Brown, CMHC Intern
Sterling is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Intern with six years of experience working with children and adolescents in high-acuity settings. He specializes in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and disordered eating.
Sterling received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southern Utah University and is currently completing his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Utah.
Sterling takes a Person-Centered approach, integrating interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). His approach can be described as supportive, genuine, and warm. He strives to meet clients where they are while empowering them to make practical, meaningful changes in their lives.
Outside of counseling, Sterling enjoys spending time with his wife and son, participating in a community concert band, playing chess, and engaging in lifelong learning.
